Super Lightweight Shoes Made from Tyvek

Would you believe a pair of comfortable shoes could be made out of Tyvek paper and weigh less than 150 grams each? Well Unbelievable Testing Laboratory has proved it with their limited-edition, “impossibly light” Light Wing trainers. The shoe, called the Pencil (can you see the pencil resemblance?), is made out of the water-resistant, highly breathable, and super durable material Tyvek, and after 15+ months of designing and prototyping, they finally are ready to push them into the world.

The Pencil edition is available exclusively through their Kickstarter campaign and they are only producing 2,013 pairs. To make certain that they can fulfill all of their campaign orders on time, they decided to limit the number produced.

Each pair will come with its own unique Kickstarter ID number telling you which edition you received.

They’re also backing Teach for America by donating a portion of the profits from every pair of shoes they sell in the United States.
