Seattle-based contemporary painter Susanna Bluhm is the subject of this week’s CMYLK. We created Colourlovers palettes for three of her landscape paintings, all done in pretty muted tones with oil and acrylic on canvas. Bluhm notes that “Abstract marks interact with more recognizable shapes, and a kind of narrative ensues” which is certainly apparent here, both from the image and its title. In fact, these works are part of a series inspired by the Song of Songs from the Old Testament. They are love songs to Bluhm’s wife and son, and the titles of the paintings are from the poem.
