Sydney Licht’s Color Stacked Paintings

This week’s CMYLK pairs Colourlovers palettes with three works by New York-based artist Sydney Licht. Licht, who is represented by Kathryn Markel Fine Arts, studied at Smith College and received her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She often paints still lifes, though the images we chose here are somewhat more abstracted. The colors, soft, yet rich, are stacked firmly but not rigidly, one against the next, for sturdy and interesting compositions.
