A Table That Aims to Capture the Spirit of Hong Kong

Italian designer Andrea Ponti designed a side table that looks to capture the spirit of Hong Kong within a product. Kanban, made of steel and concrete, alludes to the metropolis through materials, shape, color, and design.

By using concrete and steel, Ponti reflects the historic industrial buildings present in Hong Kong, while the shape pays homage to the many neon signs lighting up the bustling streets of Kowloon. The massive signs protrude into the street while being held by a sign steel bar.
