Tables That Combine LEGO Inspiration and an Old Turnery Technique

Combining old-world techniques and a modern toy, Japanese designer Kunikazu Hamanishi created the Leg-O coffee table. Each of the six legs were crafted using a lathe, an old woodworking tool that carves out sections of wood as it spins on its axis. The lathe notched out sections on each of the legs for the cross bars to snap onto, just like the LEGO clip pieces are designed to do.

Rounding out the table are the two tops, one that overlaps the other creating a bi-level effect. The design is such that it could easily be expanded or customized into different configurations depending on your needs.
