A Taipei Apartment with a Classic, Understated Aesthetic

This residence, by KC Studio, is an apartment located on the 24th floor of a building in downtown Taipei, which boasts lots of natural light in the living room and the bedroom. The added bonus to all of the windows is the view. With low ceilings and a modest square footage (above 90 square meters), they reduced the number of folded lines and built a massive storage unit that smoothly transitions from the kitchen to the living room.

The cohesive surface ties the spaces together visually without the rooms feeling broken up. The kitchen island in the center of the room isn’t your average island – it’s a focal point that also curves down to becomes the attached dining table that floats mid-air.

To keep the interior extra bright, a partition wall opens up between the living room and bedroom so light from either space can infiltrate the other room.

A storage unit in the bedroom piggybacks onto the living room one doubling as the wall between the spaces.
