I have been a fan of the large-scale abstract pantings of Brooklyn-based artist Ky Anderson now for so many years I can’t even count them… she creates totem-like shape-driven work accented with linear strokes that could be anything from landscapes to dreamscapes, but I like to think of them as alien formations.
Ky is showing her work at the Pulse Art Fair with Uprise and is working on a project with two other artists, Meg Lipke and Vicki Sher, called Paper Giants, which feature Large scale paper works. In April, they’ll be having a second showing of their work in the Flint Hills of Kansas.
