The Circle: An Installation by Elisa Ossino for Officine Saffi

Officine Saffi, an experimental hub focused on contemporary ceramics, participated in this year’s miart with an installation in the Objects section – an area dedicated to promotional design, decorative arts, limited editions, and collectible designs. Elisa Ossino designed The Circle for Officine Saffi, the collection taking her quest for abstraction to the next level with the use of suspended lunar dimension.

The Circle collection is made up of just a few objects: an armchair, a lamp, a few tables, and a screen. All are made from clay and meant to create a dialogue with the proportions of the totally black space. The neutral color along with the geometric shapes serve to reference architectural structures, while the openings in the surfaces of of the pieces suggest a relationship between lines and curves.
