The Pittman Hotel by Perkins&Will

The Pittman Hotel is a boutique hotel located in Dallas, Texas, designed by architects Perkins&Will. Composed of 165 guest rooms, the hotel is situated within a historic 1916 landmark originally designed by African American architect William Sidney Pittman, son-in-law of Booker T. Washington.

The architects wanted to maintain the historical skeleton of the building, and created a romantic juxtaposition of old and new. In collaboration with Dallas Historical Society, Perkins&Will were careful in restoring and preserving the landmark to its original essence.

The lobby and common spaces are presented with strong materials such as raw concrete, exposed steel and natural leather. The interior is outfitted with custom furnishings and fixtures along with 20 curated art pieces showcasing the hotel’s 1916 roots.
