These Ceramic Sculptures by Colleen Carlson Reveal an Intricate Inner World

Colleen Carlson thanks her background in fashion for her current appreciation of aesthetics and precision in her ceramics career. Canadian by birth and Brooklynite by choice, her handmade sculptures find inspiration in geometry and organic forms, with many of her pieces turned into large installations using alternative materials and fabrication techniques. In addition to her sculptural pieces, we’re drawn to Carlson’s lighting collection which seems to reveal even more intricacies in each piece. Her designs also photograph very well, lending themselves to prints and patterns derived from Carlson’s initial sculptural work.
