Thoughtful Urban Design with the Scape Collection

Thoughtful design and planning for public spaces is becoming more important and more important as cities continue to rapidly grow and develop. Designed by Adam Goodrum for Tait, the Scape collection takes on these challenges with a fluid system meant to foster our relationship with the natural environment, encourage social interaction, and enhance the well-being of communities and workplaces. Its solid design functions across the public realm, corporate, education, hospitality, health, multi-residential, and residential.

Scape’s family of playful, flexible indoor/outdoor elements resemble emerging rock masses that have been smoothed and rounded through years of weathering, again harkening back to the natural environment. The hope is that this collection, mimicking nature, will help to lower our levels of stress, anxiety, and depression. By providing urban environments that facilitate space for focus and rejuvenation, as well a encourage people to come together, Scape responds to these modern challenges and more through adaptability and aesthetic.

“There’s now this increasing need to draw people out of the high-density, siloed and processed living/working environments and into rejuvenating, activated common spaces. Scape intuitively entices people into its domain – whether that’s jumping on the laptop in some sunshine, taking the kids to the park, or just enjoying a breather in some wide-open space. We’re very excited to bring such a forward-thinking system into the market, and at a time where the design of our public spaces is so pivotal.,” said Gordon Tait, Founding Director of Tait.

Customize Scape’s modules, then fine tune them with the addition or subtraction of components such as tables, backrests, canopies, planters, and side tables. Scape’s canopy and side table both feature 360° swivel functionality. The canopy features Sunbrella’s exterior-grade fabric shade that’s fixed to the frame using marine-grade cord toggles. The system’s components are manufactured with anti-corrosive aluminum and finished in a UV-stable, textured powder coat with a ‘stone-like’ texture that’s available in grey or white.
