TORTUGA Unveils a New Stacking Bench by Shawn Maximo

If modularity and versatility are high on your list of must-haves, you should check out the latest from TORTUGA. Launching today, the Stacking Bench was born as a collaboration with Vancouver-born, New York-based designer Shawn Maximo who was inspired by mobile 19th-century furniture used for travel and expeditions. Not only was the bench designed to be used as extra seating at the dining table, end of the bed, or at the entryway to tie shoes, but it can easily be stacked, hence the name, to create a console, bookshelf, or a room divider.

The bench features leather straps and buckles that secure the optional cushion in place while adding a design detail that takes a simple bench to the next level. When multiple benches are strapped together, the belt straps the pieces together to secure them.

The Stacking Bench is constructed with a plywood core and finished in two luxury laminate options, with three cushion and strap colorway choices available.
