A Pair of Wood Dining Tables With Playful Legs

Twin Tables, consisting of the Oyster and Wave Tables, are designed by Brooklyn-based studio Sun at Six. Both the Oyster and Wave tables were designed around the feel of natural wood characteristics present in only solid wood – knots, nooks, crannies, and all the features that make wood feel warm and natural. These features were paired with shapes eliciting strong tactile feedback to draw even more attention to hand feel.

The Twin Tables are also designed around shape and negative space – with the legs themselves as well as the negative space between legs forming both their own shape. Sun at Six uses only sustainably sourced woods, which are air-dried, hand-sealed, and carefully kiln-dried according to their own recipes, and finishes their work using their own tenna oil. They’re available in Black, Nude, and Siena.

“When you perceive a mottled brick wall via your sense of sight, you already have expectations about how that wall will feel to the touch. We wanted to trigger the sense of touch via sight alone” said Sun at Six creative director Antares about the Twin Tables.
