Two Neighbors Fall in Love and So Do Their Apartments

After two neighbors fell in love, they chose to unit their neighboring apartments into one contemporary design in Sofia, Bulgaria. At the project’s helm was Pavel Yanev, of ALL in Studio, who aptly named the project, When Neighbors Fall in LOVE. The new, combined unit is spread out over 100 square meters (1080 square feet) and maintains a functional, bright space that was designed on a budget.

The apartment is visually divided by the oak parquet that spans the wall and ceiling. It gives an open view from the foyer to the living room making the apartment seem larger.

The palette is kept simple with a mix of black and white, balanced with greys and wood tones.

The oak dining table was built specifically for this project, as was the sofa.

The couple shares a love of food so the apartment is centered around the elevated kitchen, which features a cantilevered island. Being the focal point, it makes whomever is cooking the host of the party or the master of ceremonies.

The wooden walls in the bedroom were brought up from the floor to create a sense of warmth.
