Union LA x Sonos Re-Release Sheila Bridges Limited Edition Sonos One

It was a almost a year ago today Sonos released the toile embellished Sonos One SL Union LA Edition, a memorable collaboration between designer Sheila Bridges and Union LA resulting in an audio speaker steeped in beauty and history. The Sonos One SL embellished with the Harlem Toile wallpaper print celebrating Black American culture has returned, revived in partnership with Color of Change and their #TellBlackStories initiative, with all sales going directly to the collaborators themselves.

The re-release of the Sonos One SL Union LA Edition arrives as part of Color of Change’s #TellBlackStories initiative conceived to celebrate “the voices of creators, change makers, and activists leading the movement for authentic and powerful representation of Black people,” while also offering the opportunity to support small black-owned businesses this holiday season as part of the Black Business Green Book.

As a designer, I think of myself as a visual storyteller, and that’s what toile does. It tells a story. For my toile, it tells a story about African Americans and stereotypes. At the same time, it’s also celebratory. It is a celebration of African American culture.
