Urban-Inspired Abstract Art by Galen Cheney

I’ve been following Vermont-based Galen Cheney’s work for a few years now and I am excited to share it with you. Her oversized oil paintings are full of messy brushstrokes and bold, sometimes deep, colors. Inspired by abandoned city walls, graffiti—ancient to contemporary—her paintings come to life, layer by layer. She works on panels to get the feeling of working on actual walls. I love how her work is evolving.
