Warm Nordic Releases Hans Olsen’s Iconic Balloon Lounge Chair from 1955
View Slideshow

If the Balloon lounge chair seems familiar, it’s because the 1955 design occasionally pops up on the vintage market but up until now it’s been fairly hard to come by. The original was designed by Danish architect Hans Olsen and Danish brand Warm Nordic is bringing it back into existence for modern design lovers with a fondness for a mid-century aesthetic.

The chair features a suede seat, teak armrests, a thin metal frame that combine to form a cozy seat with a bit of rawness. The cognac suede stretches over the frame and attaches to the lower back with a lace detail that adds a charming quality to it. The relaxed seat requires little space while offering a comfortable and sophisticated spot to sit in making it the perfect chair for just about any room.
