Women in Industrial Design Show 2014

I’ve very excited about the first Women in Industrial Design Show, sponsored by WID of IDSA, is coming to the Bay Area in June 2014 as part of San Francisco Design Week (#SFDesignWeek). Being held on June 14th from 6-10 PM, the show will feature design from US-based female creative talents in ID from professionals to students.

Founded by Ti Chang, co-founder of Crave and industrial designer, to build awareness of ID as a profession as well as celebrate those who are already part of the community. She was frustrated with the lack of women designers being noted in the media and in discussions about industrial design, so she decided to do something about it.

The evening includes a showcase of women-driven design and a panel moderated by Cameron Campbell – Senior Strategist at Teague. Other panel members include Cathy Bailey of Heath Ceramics, Kate Freebaim Creative Director of Kindle/Amazon, Shujan Bertrand of Coalesse, Shannon Fong – design director at Smart Design, and Amina Horozic of Industrial Designer at FuseProject.

The event is hosted by AstroStudios and Coalesse and you can purchase tickets here. You can also make a donation to this cause here.

Here’s a sneak peek at what’s going to be on display:
