Women’s History Month: March Roundup + Music Playlist

March marks Women’s History Month, an important time to celebrate in general, and for us an important time to celebrate and share female designers and artists. Historically, the design industry has been a male-dominated field but the tide continues to turn, finally acknowledging the invaluable contributions women have been making in design since the beginning. In recent years we’ve seen a more diverse mix of people breaking molds and doing really great work that deserves attention. These women are forward-thinkers who are paving the way far outside the box with their innovative artwork and designs, changing the game and making their mark. On this last day of March, we’re looking back on all of the inspiring women designers we featured while listening to some of our favorite songs from women in our latest Spotify playlist.

After spending time learning at the Corning Museum of Glass, Jess found a new medium to translate her two-dimensional collages to – hot casted glass. She arranges broken bits of glass within the molten glass to create these intriguing sculptures with abstract elements “frozen” inside.
