A Wooden Speaker that Mimics the Sound of Vinyl

When it comes to music listening, sometimes you want to go old-school and with the resurgence of vinyl over the last 10 years, it’s no surprise some people still gravitate towards that retro sound. Aimed to give you just that, Louis, which was designed by Paolo Cappello for Newblack, is a wooden analog speaker for your smartphone that mimics the sound of records.

Inspired by the iconic gramophone shape, the sound projects from the center through its Louis Armstrong trumpet-like opening with a distinct vintage quality. A dedicated mobile app (available in the App Store) plays your music when your smartphone is resting in the speaker.
