Work in Use Is Redefining Fitness

Work in Use is redefining the way we think about fitness through the form, materials, and aesthetics of practice. These well-designed, elevated objects are meant to be used as well as displayed in the home, celebrated for their craft and high-grade materials, as well as enhance our workout experience through use.

Founded in Rhode Island in 2019 by Wu Hanyen, each piece of equipment is handmade in Work in Use’s studio and in collaboration with a community of fabricators throughout New England. Wu is passionate about creating a community of movers who are inspired and encouraged by good design, just as she is. With a background in graphic design, as well as being a woman and a movement practitioner, Wu is interested in reframing the way we understand our practices through softness, shape, and touch.
