Designers Hsin-Chun Wang and Ye Liu of HCWD Studio in New York are launching a new modular coat rack design inspired by a most humble but useful object of utility: the traditional Taiwanese outdoor clothing dryer rack. Their update is noticeably more refined, with the option to extend the rack with the addition of Y-shape modules that branch upward and outward.

The modular system allows a great range of customized shapes and forms to branch out from the center pole and a base.
Expect to see the Y-rack launched as a Kickstarter later this month on July 26th.
