Ziering Residence by Chimera Interiors

Designers Marina Mizruh and Sarah Chavez of Chimera Interiors were hired by the owner of the Ziering Residence, located in the Pacific Palisades, a neighborhood in Los Angeles, to transform the minimalist home’s interior into a warm and organic mix of mid-century and Italian furnishings. The architect, Zoltan Pali of SPF:a, suggested the design duo for the job and they then traveled to Milan to attend Salone with the homeowner herself to help select the perfect pieces to furnish the concrete, wood, and glass space.

Partnered with the client’s extensive art collection that includes works from Nancy Rubens to Dennis Hollingsworth, pieces were purchased during Salone from B&B Italia, Maxalto, Ceccotti, Cassina, Cappellini, Living Divani, Poliform, Bulthaup, and Boffi. Layered with these newly acquired Italian picks, mid-century finds complete the inviting sanctuary that the homeowner desired by creating a comfortable balance in each of interior’s rooms.

The white walls and warm wood accents set the tone of each space allowing the furnishings to really shine and become sculptural aspects in each room.

I love how the open slat headboard looks good from both sides acting as a bit of a room divider in the bedroom.
