I think this might be my most favorite giveaway yet! AllModern.com is a fantastic source for modern and contemporary furniture, accessories, and lighting. Their prices are pretty competitive as well.
I got so excited when they agreed to giveaway a fabulous item from their classic modern collection: a Kartell Componibili Three-Door Round Tower in black, white or red — winner’s choice!
The Componibili units were designed by Anna Castelli Ferrieri in 1969.
With an iconic form whose appeal has lasted for nearly four decades, Componibili modules are playful, instantly recognizable and as practical today as they were when they first emerged into the design world. The defining feature of Componibili is the simple yet stable vertical overlapping of single pieces which form useful movable containers by means of a simple joint. Round Three-Door Componibili add instant flair to any room in the home and come in a number of styles and colors to suit a variety of aesthetic and functional needs. Characterized by an instantly endearing and slightly futuristic elegance, Componibili have an enduring allure and continue to fit into any space, from the Museum of Modern Art to a child’s bedroom, with an easy charm.
Facts about the three-door unit:
- Dimensions: 23 ” H x 12.5″ diameter
- Kartell products use a wide variety of plastic materials, thereby reducing the use of living organisms, such as trees, which are difficult and time-consuming to replace.
- Most Kartell products are easily recycled and product components can be separated to elements made of a single material to simplify the recycling process.
Rules: Comment on this post with what you’ll be storing in your Componibili! 1 comment per person. Contest runs from July 6-July 10, 2009. We will choose a winner at random.
Be sure to follow the rules!
Note: the silver unit is not included in this giveaway.
Sorry, this giveaway has expired.

ejdurant on 07.06.2009 at 08:26 AM
Not sure I have anything ‘sexy’ enough to put in it tbh! Would probably end up putting my smaller painting/drawing things in it and have it in my living room so that they are always to hand if I am feeling creative!
Jennie on 07.06.2009 at 08:30 AM
I would use this in my son’s room to store all of his legos…oh the legos…they are everywhere.
Barrett on 07.06.2009 at 08:31 AM
All my design materials.
Steven on 07.06.2009 at 08:31 AM
This would most likely go on my desk–or somewhere in my office. I’ve got a million mailing supplies and various other things in there that are in desperate need of organizing. And with this, I can do it in style!
I like how the contest runs backwards in time. Did I miss the deadline?
Huring on 07.06.2009 at 08:37 AM
I would store all the dogs toys. And then teach the two little terriers to get them and put them back themselves. In a perfect world.
andrea wheeler on 07.06.2009 at 08:50 AM
Small cars & trucks in top
plastic men, animals, figures & all the plastic nonsense from
happy meals in middle
blocks in bottom
this way, I would allow toys in the living room!
Mimi on 07.06.2009 at 08:52 AM
It would fit perfectly into my studio. My loose supplies are in need of a home. I would store spools of thread, tins of buttons, trims, and ribbons. The top surface would be frequently used for my coffee while I sew… handmade coasters would probably live on the top as well…

I can think of several uses including the nightstand mentioned above. I also like the idea of storing craft items inside. I wonder if they are strong enough to put under a table top. These are very nice looking and would inspire me to clean up my craft room.

winston on 07.06.2009 at 10:15 AM
Looks like a great place to store kittens at night while we’re sleeping.
Joke.
We might put that right on top of the table in the kitchen as a convenient storage for those awkward things one always has laying around with nowhere to put them!
Patti on 07.06.2009 at 10:15 AM
I’d love to store books and writing supplies inside, as well as anything else that currently clutters up my desk!

Ooh, I would store all the papers and writing supplies that sprawl all over my desk. Then I would slide the cool doors to hide the mess and smile. These units are so 60′s (and I should know–I was there), that I would resurrect my plastic parson’s table with the detachable legs to keep the Companibili company.

I just love the Kartell Componibili, and have them on my wishlist!
If I win I would use it to store some of my yarn stash – right next to my sofa, wehere I usually do my knitting. When I’m home alone I could close the doors to protect the yarn against dust and when we have visitors I could open them so everyone can see the beautiful yarn. Perfect match.
chantal on 07.06.2009 at 10:39 AM
scarfs, belts, gloves, cookies on top and wolfgang – the sea lion puppet.

This item is clean and adorable. My new room is in desperate need of furniture and storage, so most likely, this would contain, yarn knitting needles, and embroidery supplies. My cameras and photo supplies in the bottom compartment. And the middle compartment will be used for small miscellaneous items that i need readily assessable (cell phone charger, computer charger, a book or two). And to not put a bit of space to waste, on top would likely be a coffee maker (yes, in my room) or my computer.

The top and bottom spaces would be used for my kitty Lucky’s supplies and the middle space would have a nice soft cushion for him to grab a nap. He loves cozy spaces, he curls up into a ball and you would hardly know there was a kitty there except for his regular ear and his slightly bent ear which he got in a tangle with a big black crow in the backyard. The resultant scar tissue has caused his one ear to be bent back at the tip like a wee elf but at least now he doesn’t chase the birds anymore.
shel on 07.07.2009 at 13:44 PM
This would make a fantastic organizer by my desk. I’d love to store all my desk supplies and art supplies in that.

Kerren on 07.07.2009 at 14:47 PM
3 compartments, 3 people! This would go in our living room and would be organized as follows. I would get the top drawer for as mom I have many important things that need a home, such as keys, camera, cell phone, bills, and purse. Hubby gets the middle drawer, which I predict will house our many remotes and his iTouch. Baby D would get the bottom drawer to play with, and as any 14 month old would he will fill it with his most precious stuffed animals, race cars, stacking cups and board books. How exciting this piece would be!
Angela Rivera on 07.07.2009 at 15:10 PM

July means my boyfriend’s birthday.
He’s loved this range since he was weeny
I’d like to really make his day
And give him a Componibili.
But what to put inside? Socks, shoes?
Pens and pencils? Beer and steak?
No, I know what I must choose –
In each one, a round sponge cake.
Top to bottom, jam to cream
Delectable, I guarantee
But icing cannot match the gleam
Of his new Componibili.

I have recently begun working from a home office and have been looking for an aesthetically pleasing way to store some of the things that are currently bouncing around my office without a home…a black Componibili would be the ideal solution!

I think it would be a great show piece that would be with him and he could take with him someday when he moves on his own. It would definitely be something that would grow with him.

Jennifer DiBello on 07.09.2009 at 10:09 AM
With the seemingly endless amount of stuff or “crap” that I have lying around, the number of possibilities approachs infinity!! But I will most likely put it in the kitchen and use it as a spice rack/other-random-kitchen-gadget-holder. Mmm…I’m hungry.
Robb Irrgang on 07.09.2009 at 10:13 AM
I desperately need a nightstand.
Jennifer DiBello on 07.09.2009 at 10:14 AM
With the seemingly infinite of “crap” that I have accumulated, the possibilities seem endless for what I could store in there! It will most likely go in the kitchen and become a spice rack/other-random-kitchen-gadget-holder. Or maybe a duct-tape/random-craft holder. EVEN BETTER – a medicine cabinet to hold the ridiculous amount of bathroom stuff that I have stuffed around in boxes! Yeah, I like that one.

julzish on 07.09.2009 at 10:45 AM

Sophia W on 07.09.2009 at 11:43 AM
I’d probably put my pacifiers and some of my toys in it. (And then I’d play with the doors and take everything out, of course, just for fun.) My mom would place a glass of water on top of it so that’s she could have some water while she’s nursing me or maybe a little flower vase to brighten my room. It’d surely look lovely!

i would keep it at my bedside for reading materials, writing materials, clutter like tv remotes…and snacks. :]
ErikR on 07.09.2009 at 14:47 PM
What I would put in the Componibili would be kitchen scraps, moldy bread, the occasional dead pet fish, coffee grounds, fruit pits and rinds, and from the yard, clippings and leaves.
It looks like these can be put on their side on rollers to be used as rolling compost bins. If you roll them in one direction, the doors will stay closed. It would be a beautiful addition to the backyard. There is something delightful with the notion of using an “easily recycled” iconic plastic item from the 60s to facilitate recycling of biomass.
What I would take out of the Componibili would be “Black Gold”. Beautiful compost soil to enrich my garden and the environment.
So, I would put in waste and take out environmentally enriching soil.
Collyn on 07.09.2009 at 14:50 PM
My youngest is entering kindergarten and just got his first desk..he is very organized and methodical having been to Montessori pre-school so I would let him organize all his school supplies in there as well as his arts and crafts stuff to keep next to his new desk.

Oh my, what wouldn’t I be storing in my Componibili if I were lucky enough to win it?!
