Minimii has released an Arne Jacobsen 1:16 House and a smaller version called the MiiBox™ as an homage to the designer. A 1:16 replica of Arne Jacobsen’s own villa at Gotfred Rodes Vej 2 in Charlottenlund, Denmark built in 1929, the house is great as a dollhouse or a collector’s item.

Minimii’s MiiBox™ is a wall hanging Arne Jacobsen house 1:16 that only takes up half the space:

The modern miniature community has been buzzing about this house since they released the news. Consensus thus far is that it is too pricey (close to $1000 USD) despite its specialness. We are hoping that SOMEONE buys it and does a review so we can live vicariously through the scenes that result!

This post taught me 2 things. First of all, it reminded me how much I love Arne Jacobsen’s work. Secondly, there’s a modern miniature community???? WHAT??? I must know more!

I bought the Bennett House last weekend off the shelf from the Los Angeles Disney Concert Hall Gift Shop. I spent about $1,000 on the house and all the furniture. It’s gorgeous, to be sure. However, after spending two days and several hours each day laying out all the parts, checking and re-checking the assembly instructions, I’ve come to realize that 1) there is a part missing and 2) the assembly instructions and pre-drilled holes are just wrong. I’m still hoping it’s just me and I’ll wake up tomorrow and realize my mistake… Brinca Dada directs customers to a youtube instruction video that is non-existent and they have not contacted me back about these problems. At this point, Bennett House is un-assemble-able :-(
