Aviary House in Malaysia by Kevin Mark Low

The Aviary House by Kevin Mark Low began with the site of an existing rowhouse which was in the unique position of having been developed with twin frontage: one to the access road of its street address and the other to a lower back street which had a delightful tree lined and shaded approach.

The concept placed a tree filled garden between the original body of the house and the new living room pavilion, with the previous front entry taking over the functions of mail delivery, gas storage, rubbish disposal and service deliveries.

The courtyard garden within was capped at the roof with a steel louvre grille; an aviary of stack ventilation and reduced heat gain during a sun filled day as well as simple security without compromise to internal aesthetics.
