The market is inundated with portable speakers for your iPhone’s, iPod’s, laptops, etc., but sometimes they’re really more speaker than you need or want to carry around. That’s why I love the simplicity of the BERNHARD | BURKARD-designed BALLO speaker for OYO (Objects You Obsess). The perfectly sphere ball doesn’t even require a stand – you simply lay it down or hang it to provide a 360-degree audio feast.

Much like the head of a microphone, the ball-shaped design features a colorful “belt” around it that helps protect the speaker, as well as increasing the bass when it’s lying down.

The mono-speaker plugs into any 3.5mm jack that a set of headphones would go into and when you plug it in, it comes on automatically. If you prefer stereo sound, you just need 2 BALLOs connected via a stereo wire.

The built-in rechargeable battery lets it be used on the run without having to lug a plug along with you.
