Blade of Grass is plexiglass and an LED light, designed by Stefano Merlo and recognized with the 1st prize in the 2nd International Outdoor Furniture Contest by Gandia Blasco.

Blade of grass is an outdoor lighting solution that takes inspiration directly from the nature, and precisely from blades of grass.
The aim was to design a lighting source that could be easily integrated in any natural environment and become part of it, rather than being something interfering.
In fact, as well as blades of grass, the form of this lighting source is thought to be organic, flexible, dynamic and plantable on the ground. Planting more than one of these lights, the effect will be the same as glowing grass in the night…simply a wonderful atmosphere.

Nice decorative idea may it be the result of fiber optics.

I live in the Sonoran Desert, Arizona, and believe the Blades of Grass would work extremely well with the xeriscape landscape style so common here. I have two concerns, however: first) would the material of which its made stand up to the rigors of our desert environment and second) would the cost of purchase put it out of reach for the middle income/retirement incomes of most of our residents here in the Tucson-Phoenix area?
Esthetically, however, I think the Blades of Grass are exquisite and represent great imagination in minimalist design. Well Done!!
