Table Covered with Crocheted Plastic Bags

Hugo Ribeiro, inspired by traditional Portuguese stools and the art of crocheting, designed CROKÉ, a corner table with a hidden shelf inside. The simple wooden structure is made out of pine and then covered with plastic bags that have been crocheted into a long strand that’s wrapped around the base.

The colorful bags we encounter in our daily life would be tossed out, so Ribeiro used the eco-friendly material to crochet a cover around the table. An interior shelf is hidden behind the cover which can easily be accessed through the strands.
