The last home on the East Side Home Tour is the Rosemont Residence, a new build from Sunia Homes. Boasting sustainable elements like solar photovoltaics and a rainwater harvesting system, this house was affordable and a quick build.
The project and company began with the homeowners teaching themselves about architecture and 3D modeling software in hopes of building what they wished for without the huge cost. Due to only having the basics as far as design skills go, they kept things as simple as possible. They now offer this floor plan (and others) as a downloadable PDF for people interested in building their own (tempting!).
We’re not attending Dwell on Design this year, but DoD was generous enough to photograph the homes on the tour exclusively for Design Milk. Make sure to check out all of the 2012 Dwell on Design house tours here.
