Elements Rugs by Kostantia Manthou

Milan-based architect Kostantia Manthou was so obsessed with a sky-pattern sticker last year that she created a rug based on the design. She says of the pattern, “I was literally covering every object and surface in my house [with it].” As for the subtle mosaic, that came afterwards, out of her interest in “the oldest and more traditional manual pixelization forms.” Later, she decided to do an opposing design of her clouded sky, “for the sake of duality,” and thus was borne the Sky/Earth carpets.

The rugs, which are part of a collection called Elements, are manufactured by CC-Tapis, a French company that recently opened a new showroom in Milan.
