The Melbourne-based architecture firm, Marcus O’Reilly Architects, designed this coffee table with a tabletop that is constructed using driftwood found on local beaches in St. Kilda, Australia. Each piece of driftwood is trimmed to size, wire brushed, colored, waxed, and placed on a simple black steel frame. This top is unique as it is, but the wooden pieces hold their own distinction with dissimilar stamps, holes, and markings. To top it all off, it won the Craft Victoria Design and Innovation Award for 2009.
