This year marks the 60th anniversary of Fritz Hansen’s ever-popular 3-legged Ant™ chair by Arne Jacobsen. In celebration they donated 25 of them to Jamie Oliver’s Better Food Foundation charity and The BIG Chair Project began. The chairs were then decorated by various artists and designers, including Paul Smith, Burberry, and Matthew Williamson, and are set to be auctioned in October, with proceeds going to the charity.
The 25 decorated Ant chairs are being revealed at Republic of Fritz Hansen Store London and will be on display during the London Design Festival this month.

Sorry, but if you can’t sit in it, it isn’t a chair.
A three-legged chair is inherently less stable and too easy to tip when sitting down or getting up. For disabled people who use walkers, canes, or crutches, a three-legged chair is no good at all.
