This set of dishware by French designer Ariane Prin contains artistic impressions in which dips, dressings, and other condiments could be placed.
From the designer:
Observe that there are two distinct categories of items: first the simple objects from mass production, and on the other hand the ornamental objects, carved, which show the evidence of an ancestral knowledge.
How to reconcile these families of objects while playing with this duality?
By taking styles and periods from different origins, I zoomed in ornaments on objects to extract them from their context and apply them to simple forms. The ornament is therefore subject to a replay, a reinterpretation of the past.
These inlaid ornaments disturb, inspire, decorate but also and above all offer new uses. The ornament is working for example as a grip or as a container inside the container.

Brilliant! Interesting design and it’s cool how you can fill the indents with sauce!

how are you going to wash the dishes? there may be 2 ways:
- you gotta put them into pot with water and wait
- you gotta wash it immediately
Then, it will be impossible to use all the sause from this dish due to lots of small knobs inside.

i think it’s an interesting idea regardless of practicality :o

these are so interesting! I love when you put the sauce on the plate, it makes it different, so which ever color sauce you use, it will totally change the plate :)
