GE LED Bulb

GE will be releasing an elegant and widely available household LED light bulb starting early 2011. Developed to distribute light like an incandescent, this new design will last up to 17 years and cost around $40-50 per bulb.

  1. I’m confused on how it will be the first? There are already household LED bulbs for sale in places such as Lowe’s. Do they mean something else?

  2. Hey Brian,
Nope that was my bad. Thanks for the update!

  3. At $40 a bulb they are way more expensive than the incumbent. I know GE makes high quality LEDs with the right colour temperature, but the colour of LED light is actually less conducive to many home and interior tasks and functions, including rendering wall colour similar to natural light.
