Medici Chair by Konstantin Grcic for Mattiazzi

Designer Konstantin Grcic created the Medici Chair for Italian manufacturer Mattiazzi. With both an indoor and an outdoor version available, the low, semi-reclined chair is all about the natural quality and beauty of the wood it’s made from. Built from wood slabs (sliced tree trunks) and full of geometric angles, the chair is made for comfort and relaxation.

Outdoor version (first image also)

A modern twist on the classic Adirondack chair, the Medici was “inspired by the material, the machinery, and of course, the skill and craftsmanship of the people” he worked with.

Indoor versions

The Medici is distributed by Herman Miller and is available in Natural Walnut Waxed, Douglas Natural Waxed, Douglas Finished Aniline Natural (grey or yellow stain), and Thermo-Oiled ash (outdoor).
