Coming in second place at this year’s Greener Gadgets Conference was a design by Mathieu Zastawny, Mansour Ourasanah, Tom Dooley, Peter Byar, Elysa Soffer, and Mathieu Turpault from the United States with their concept design, the Power-Hog.
The Power-Hog attempts to teach children the cost of running appliances through a metering piggy bank. A coin donation offers up 30 minutes of electronics use.
Note: On February 27th the annual Greener Gadgets Conference was held in New York City. The conference boasts top-name speakers from the worlds of technology, environmentalism and design and plays host to one of the most well respected and innovative green design competitions.
