Someone has thought of the chickens! Drew Waters designed these portable modern chicken coops specifically for the backyard and urban farmer. They are safe, space-efficient homes built out of Douglas Fir timber, which has the added benefit of repelling insects. It’s quite the protective dream home for backyard chickens all around.

I don’t have any chickens but I have to say that this is really cool and if I did have chickens I would have to build one of these.

I kinda wish I was a chicken so I could live in one of these luxury chicken coops.

Firstly, love the website.
Unfortunately I smell a rip-off. Francis has been building chicken arks in the Blue Mountains, Australia since at least 2006. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery I guess, but it’s not an original design. Mountain Arks website is http://mountainarks.com.au/

Interesting. From Drew Waters’ web site: “Drew Waters’ first interaction with chickens occurred in his Grandparents backyard in Melbourne, Australia.”
Interesting Australian connection…

A nice design but is also very similar to the ones Sylvia Jorrin had been selling for over five years on this website: http://onlythebestonline.com/
They work really well but you have to move them at least once a day.

Mine finally arrived after an eight week delay and I was very disappointed to see that it was not made in the U.S., but made in China.

These certainly are handcrafted… right from China!

That looks portable, convenient and quite space saving.

I think it looks like a good investment if you’re planning on building an ark. I personally made a coop, but I’d look into this, definitely looks sturdy.
