Kaleo Kala is a designer with KALA Studios.

The “Phila” Chair designed as part of a line of furniture inspired by the designer’s time spent in Philadelphia, where loft living is quite common. It was designed to have a classic feel to it, and yet still have a modern look.

“Strapped” was created from the idea that it could be so simple to make use of old books that sit on your shelves never to be read again. With bamboo plywood for a top and a base and books repurposed this is definitely an eco-friendly side table.

“Wrapped” is an entry/sofa table stripped down to it’s bare minimum. Two frame legs and a top, that’s it.

Wow. I like. I ‘m a big fan of Second Life and there’s a lot of very similar furniture in there, mostly because basic shapes and hollows are the easiest things to build with their creation tools. Seeing one in real-life is pretty awesome!
