We’ve talked about a lot of pieces designed with the use of LEGOs in the past. But, this LEGO boardroom table by abgc Architects is one of the coolest. A recently-formed advertising agency, Boys and Girls, commissioned abgc to create a comfortable, modern space in a Georgian building. The proposal also included a 4′x9′ boardroom table design made entirely of LEGOs, complete with the company’s logo embedded into the tabletop.
The table consists of 22,742 pieces clicked together with traditional LEGO construction techniques (no glue), a 136-mm grommet is located in its center. It sits on a polished stainless steel square hollow section structure built by B.A. Engineering of Prussia St and is topped with a 10-mm sheet of toughened glass manufactured by Action Glass.

They also made a stop-motion video of the project too with the help of Artist Cormac Browne, using tripods, clamps and magic arms from the wizards sleeve of camera equipment. View it here:

Insanely cool, clever, fun – I want one! The video must be watched – loved the coffee cup filling and emptying.

An amazing use of legos and time. I would enjoy having one of these at my office. Great job!

We recently recreated George Nelson’s Platform bench using only Legos. :D

And at the end of the project it comes down to gender division. Boys and Girls, really? Way to ruin a kick ass idea.

I wonderd how much would a table like this cost? … consigering that each lego brick is about $0.25 each at http://www.lego.com, times 22,742 pieces… only for the lego counter top we got $5685. I guess I don´t want to make the rest of the numbers…

Really creative. What would have made it extraordinary would have been if all the Legos used in the table had been salvaged from team member attics. Who doesn’t have a giant box full of 30-40 year old Legos? Hated seeing all the new Lego boxes being cracked open to make this phenomenal table.
