Beautiful, but the cacti are not going to survive in that sand or mix. The white is going to discolor even with the minimal watering that cacti require.
Well…hard to brign this up, but cacti and succulents don’t do well in humid environments, and maintaining humidity is about the main reason you’d make a terrarium for. Pretty. But these plants will rot pretty soon.
Not to disagree with Debbie Downer but I had both cacti and succulants in an open air terrarium such as these for years and they thrived. Just don’t overwater. That is the key.
OMG this would be the perfect anniversary present for my husband!! He used to have an aquarium but it leaked out water one day b/c the glass cracked and I know he misses it a lot! Since then, we’ve been a little bit too busy to upkeep a whole aquarium so this would be the perfect replacement! These are soo adorable!!
I think ferns and moss terrariums would be much easier to maintain as they can better tolerate wet feet and require less sunlight(which may be important as a glass terrarium can get quite hot in direct sun).
Cacti grow well without a terrarium as they like plenty of sunlight and do not require the humid environment that is present in most terrariums.

For some reason this reminds me of the Chihuly exhibit I saw in Phoenix, but in miniature. I would love to have/make one for my house!
Thanks for sharing!

I’ve always wanted to make a terrarium but I haven’t got around to it yet. These are gorgeous but I am curious what are they using for the ‘soil’?

Yes. I have had cacti and succulents in terrariums and they do just fine.
My worry is the “soil”. That white sand or composite is NOT going to sustain cacti. It’s also going to discolor quickly.
