Mannequin: A Chair with Customizable Options

WertelOberfell designed Mannequin, an upholstered chair with quilted fabric for Polish brand, IKER. While the shape might be simple, the idea behind Mannequin was to create a customizable chair that was inspired by the stitching trend in fashion. The chair can be “dressed” depending on your needs with three different patterns of quilted fabric and three different bases that can be mixed and matched.

The three stitching designs are in the shape of triangles, diagonal stripes, or lines coming together. Once you’ve selected your fabric, you can then choose the legs that work best for you: four wooden legs, a steel base composed of four steel tubes that bend like pin legs, or then two legs on both sides. And, if those aren’t enough decisions to make, you can choose from 11 colors.
