Modern House Numbers does just that by offering high quality and affordable address numbers, mailbox numbers and curb stencils for the modern dweller. Now offering more than numbers; check out their letters, symbols and custom plaques.

S. J. Robin on 08.05.2011 at 09:07 AM
Given the following choices I wondered what would be appropriate for me at this precise moment.
a) brushed aluminum – If I lived in a Corbusier atelier this would be perfect and then i thought if I bought one of those modern houses in Dwell then …
b) black acrylic (plastic) really appealed to my dark side and if I lived at Falling Water the numbers would ‘pop’ out against the ruggedness of the Frank Lloyd Wright style of the his masterpiece.
c) white acrylic (plastic) would only work for me if i lived somewhere really hot and sunny, like Palermo or Sardinia, or maybe in one of those foreclosed houses in Phoenix (where there are plenty to choose from)
d) colored acrylic (plastic) would be perfect if I lived in the Magic Kingdom or Sea World
e) rusted steel just seems to speak to me, the sound of the hammering over a roaring fire as the blacksmith picks up the numbers and slams them down again into the heat, dowsing them in a spray of steam and hammering them into shape, crafting them, turning them, back to the arts and crafts movement, the tang of William Morris, then glint of steel, the memories of railroads, of big steel, of Philadelphia, of Detroit, of New York skyscrapers, of Howard Roark, of Atlas shrugged. Yes its rugged, rusted steel for me.
