New 2014 Launches from Council

First up is the Poise Collection by Box Clever, a San Francisco-based design firm. The collection is made up of a table, a bench (available in two lengths), and a stool, made from wood and stone. Despite the use of these solid materials, the pieces still appear to be weightless with its softly contoured edges and surfaces.

The Lat Chair, by Harry Allen, has a simple frame that creates negative space where normally there isn’t. The design was inspired by the back of the person sitting, where their back touches the chair and where it doesn’t.

Chad Wright’s signature take on simplicity is reflected in his Sprig Stool, which will be available in counter- and bar-height. The scaled back silhouette has a brief interruption from the stainless steel footrest.
