Lund & Paarmann’s new pieces for Lopfurniture are a lovely extension of their current collection. I always appreciate their use of luxurious materials and attention to detail.

Inuit Armor Chair – dining chair in solid walnut, painted steel and Inuit sealskin from the Phoca groenlandicus (Greenland seal). This sealskin is a extraordinary beautiful material. An interesting fact is that Intuit skins are legal to buy and sell – the reason why they chose to use is is because the Greenland Inuit hunters have great difficulties in selling their sealskin as the EU has made a rule against importing all other sealskins than the sustainable skins from Greenland.

Armor chair – dining chair in solid walnut, leather and painted steel.

Missboss Desk – made of solid walnut, full grain saddle leather and painted steel.

Raft Table – dining table in solid walnut and painted steel.

“luxury” doesn’t include the death of defenseless animals in inhumane ways. thanks for this post though. I was slightly interested in keeping up with this blog until I saw you’re ignorance.

These Greenland seals are shot in their natural environment by seal hunters, who shoot them for the meat, and if not sold – the skin is wasted. It is not an industrial hunt – but an age old hunting tradition carried out by the Inuits.
