Tim Wigmore has three new works being exhibited at this year’s Salone Satellite: the Loungearound, the Rockaround, and the Pil Pendant Lamp.

Loungearound is a delicately balanced reclining chair that encourages you to lie back, chill right out, and lounge … around.

Rockaround is a stylish and eco-aware seat for rockers of all ages. Roll around wildly or gently sway on this unique design made from bamboo and hemp.

Pil is a pendant lamp made with hand turned logs from New Zealand’s Southland forests, and artisan blown glass. Combining these traditional craft techniques with the latest LED lighting technology Pil is a simple sculptural lamp that just hangs around looking great in your space.

That reclining chair looks real comfy, with the right curves at the right places. I love to put up my feet, especially when I am sleeping (a habit I had as a kid and never outgrew. :P) and this one looks just like it was made for me.

If I remember correctly, the lamps were designed last year by the Turkish designer Onur Mustak Cobanli.. http://www.omcdesign.com/?design=556&type=Micro+Lamp

Hmmm, I was unaware of these, however you are incorrect in saying that my Pil lamps are the same lights as Onur Mustak Cobanli’s Micro Lamp concept from last year. In fact they are 2 quite different things.
You are correct in that the form is similar (based on the iconic pill form) and they are both lights, however the Pil lamp is a large (part of the irony of the piece) hanging pendant lamp made from blowen glass and solid turned timber using a high power LED.
Onur’s description of his lamp concept is as follows:
“The Haciyatmaz XXS is a very little lamp with its own battery attached inside, these lamps can be thrown to air and when they fall to ground because of the heavy bottom they will come to the vertical postion.
How to Produce: Lead or heavy metal fills the bottom, a little space left for the battery and the light emitting diodes. top part in plastics. Possible Materials: The designer noted the following materials could be used in production: Plastic, Metal, Electrical Components”.
So in my opinion we are looking at 2 very different things. Thanks though for your comment.
