The Octopus Chair is the first piece of the Animal Chair collection by Spanish artist and designer Maximo Riera. A three-year labor of love, the chair used advanced technology and engineering in order to manufacture and develop it, along with over thirty professionals from four different companies.
Maximo’s unique Animal Chair collection constitutes a diverse range of species, from mammals to reptiles to insects, replicated with biological accuracy and fused with a chair. Maximo began the collection as an homage to the animal kingdom in an attempt to reflect and capture the beauty of nature in each living thing.

I can safely say that I have never seen a chair such as this one. It will be interesting to see what other animals the artist uses for more chair designs. Thank you for posting these pictures.
