Meh. Limited use. Seems like the reason you would be compelled to leave the power cord plugged in is that the outlet is hard to reach, like behind a sofa, etc. Outlets with a lamp switch would seem to be more usable.

Indeed, this is not a practical thing at all given the number of existing alternatives and the need to keep the plug exposed at all times to gain the expected benefit.
As a decorative item, I give it points.

Not practical for the above-mentioned points and a few others:
a) It displaces 2 outlets for one.
b) Cannot be used with a power bar.
c) Producing it is creates unnecessary waste. I don’t foresee a widespread need for this product in it’s current form, but perhaps the application could be used in other ways.

I’m surprised at the number of negative comments…’cos my first reaction was “I like it!”
Sure, it’s not like you can’t live without it…but still, I like it! lol

Those of you who think that all electric outlets are mounted at a convenient height have obviously never lived outside of Argleton. In the US and Canada, most outlets are near the floor, making it difficult for the elderly and people with back trouble to plug in and unplug cords. Only in kitchens are the outlets likely to be above the countertop. Putting a “lamp switch” on a low-mounted outlet would accomplish little or nothing.

Umm IT Guy: And how would the twisty plug solve the problem. People who cannot bend to unplug cords would suddenly bend to twist it off?
I’d prefer a switch next to every outlet.

orr.. you could just have an on off switch like we have in the UK, so that your socket isn’t permanantly on…

I would love something like this for the microwave! I am keep it unplugged while not in use! We should have installed a switch for some of the plugs but it is too late now!
