Shell Thomas is an Australian product designer based in London who has created this adorable rocking horse from cardboard.
Reggie the Eco Rocker is made entirely from 100% recyclable Dufaylite Ultra Board, so he’s a sustainable alternative to the typical wooden rocking horse. He comes flat-packed and can be easily assembled and even customized using your child’s art supplies.

I love the idea of upcycling waste like old cardboard into not only functional objects, but so cool to look at!! It will be interesting to see what else comes out of industrial design with cardboard!

Amazing! I love the concept of this, the resourcefulness, and the fun it provides!

I’ve wondered about the eco-ness of cardboard furniture, when it is not very durable? Is it better to have furniture made from recycled cardboard that doesn’t last very long or furniture made from wood that lasts many lifetimes if cared for properly? I haven’t heard anyone ask this question before?

I don’t know, Amy, but that’s a great question.

Looks more like recycled moneymakers for the designer to me!
