Sagmeister & Walsh Halftone Satisfaction for The Luxe Project

Sagmeister & Walsh are no strangers to controversy in the design world and leave it to the duo to bring some sauce to The Luxe Project by moo.com. The project partners with creatives to come up with a line of Luxe Business Cards where 100% of the net proceeds go to the charity of the designer’s choice. These designers created Halftone Satisfaction that are intended, as per Sagmeister, “To be handed to anyone you meet who delights or annoys you.”

“It’s a delight to be around someone who loves what they do.”

Not a day goes by that I don’t want to pass some kind of message along to someone I meet in the real world and these do it perfectly. Halftone Satisfaction is named for both the messages they display, plus the gradient on the backs that go from solid white to solid black with the help of black dots. The darker the back of the card, the darker the message. Brilliant, right?

“Your eyes are lovely.”

The limited edition collection includes seven sets of seven cards that go from kind to, well, something that will get quite a reaction from the recipient.

“A picture is worth a thousand stares.”

Sagmeister & Walsh’s charity of choice is New York’s Coalition for the Homeless, an organization that Sagmeister has volunteered at for more than 10 years.

“You have too many mouths and not enough ears.”

“You are a waste of time.”

“Rude!”

“Fuck you. Eat shit.”
